Who are we?

Harpeth Road Press is an emerging digital-first, 100% woman-owned publisher of heartwarming romantic fiction. We’ve published household names such as New York Times Bestselling Author Teri Wilson and USA Today Bestselling Authors Jenny Hale and Nancy Naigle, as well as incredible brand-new talent.

Rethinking Distribution

We pioneer new practices in bringing our books to readers, right in their homes and onto their phones, tablets, and eReaders. We are always testing and researching what works in reaching romance readers. Once we reach them, we offer nothing less than high-quality content.

Standout Packaging

We develop unique author brands that fit into the genre while also standing out in the crowd. Great packaging is our trademark.

Highlights

Harpeth Road was named one of the “Eight Best Book Publishers” in Nashville by Reedsy.com, a leading global publishing service platform for authors. In 2024, Reedsy published their worldwide list of “46 Top Women’s Fiction Book Publishers in 2024” and we made the cut.

We signed a TV film and shopping agreement for our second title The Holiday Plan by debut author Emma Lynden with the famed EveryWhere Studios. EveryWhere’s team has produced features based on bestselling novels for Disney+, and their recent hit projects include Hallmark Channel’s “Never Kiss a Man in a Christmas Sweater,” “A Godwink Christmas,” and ABC’s “Same Time Next Christmas.” Other Highlights include Lifetime Channel’s “My Sweet Audrina” (A novel by V.C. Andrews, hailed by Simon and Schuster as “one of the most popular authors of all time”), and Universal’s “Monsterville: Cabinet of Souls,” based on the novel by bestselling author R.L. Stine. We currently hold the publishing rights to both Teri Wilson’s Once Upon a Royal Summer and Nancy Naigle’s The Secret Ingredient–both Hallmark Channel Original Movies.

Our books have been on SouthernLiving.com in their features "11 Small Town Romance Books That'll Make You Feel Right At Home" and "Christmas Novels to Start Reading Now," as well as Bookbub.com's "15 Charming Small-Town Romances." Our novel The Christmas Letters was selected as an Editor's Pick for BookLife by Publisher's Weekly for outstanding quality, The Magic of Sea Glass was chosen by Kirkus editors to be featured in their June 2023 print edition, and The Holiday Plan was in First for Women’s print edition as part of the feature “7 Books We’re Loving Now” and Woman’s World’s “12 Sweet and Swoon-Worthy Books to Read if You Love Hallmark Movies.”

Lindsay Gibson's novel The Christmas Promise was a number one bestseller in Christmas (eBook) for the debut fiction author. The eBook went on to hit top 25 in Christmas Books and the paperback was a number three bestseller in Christmas (Books).

New York Times Bestselling Author Teri Wilson’s backlist Christmas titles (previously published by Hallmark Publishing) both hit #`1 New Release in Christmas on our watch.

We’ve hit bestseller lists with backlist titles, debut titles, and our current releases. The Magic of Sea Glass was a simultaneous number one new release in both eBook and paperback, a career first for HR founder and USA Today bestselling author, Jenny Hale. It was a top 30 Amazon bestseller in the US as a backlist title a year later. Our Kindle Unlimited pages-read is over thirty million.

The German translation of Butterfly Sisters reached #4 in Kindle Store and hit the #1 spot in Contemporary Romance, Small Town & Rural Fiction, Contemporary categories in Germany and hit the BILD Bestseller-Liste, Germany’s biggest newspaper, another first for Jenny’s career.

Our wonderful foreign rights agents have sold over 40 different books/translations, including the foreign rights to two of our debut authors’ books: The Library of Second Chances by Savannah Carlisle (German rights) and Wishing for Christmas by Caroline Stowe (Turkish rights).

We also pitch audiobook rights to Dreamscape and can publish through our partnership with Dreamscape Select, the personalized audiobook distribution arm of the award-winning independent publisher of audiobooks, Dreamscape Media. Their audio titles have earned a dozen Audie Award nominations, more than fifty Audiofile Earphones Awards, and their partnerships span a wide array of well-known publishers.
