HR Welcomes Marleen Seegers, Foreign Rights

Harpeth Road is delighted to announce that Marleen Seegers of 2 Seas Agency will be managing foreign rights for our titles.

Marleen holds a degree in Liberal Arts from Utrecht University in the Netherlands, studied a semester at Hull University in the North of England and took part in a research project on Welsh literature in English translation at Swansea University in Wales, before obtaining a post-graduate diploma in Comparative Literature from the Sorbonne Nouvelle University in Paris, France.

She worked for almost a decade in the French publishing industry including at France's oldest publishing house Editions Stock, part of Hachette Livre, where she held a position of foreign rights manager for several years.

She relocated to Ojai, California, in 2011 where she founded 2 Seas Agency with her partner Derek Dodds that same year.

With offices on both sides of the Atlantic, 2 Seas Agency represents publishers, literary agents and a select number of authors from around the world, and has sold foreign rights for authors Kelly Rimmer, Angela Marsons, Renita D’Silva, and Louise Jensen to name a few.

When she is not traveling to international book fairs or pitching titles and negotiating deals from her California office, Marleen also hosts The Make Books TravelPodcast, where she interviews international publishing professionals.

We cannot wait to have our novels translated and in the hands of foreign publishers and Marleen is the perfect person to make it happen.
