Harpeth Road Press is over the moon to share the news that Jenny Hale has acquired world rights from women’s fiction author Susan Sands for an unforgettable southern romantic fiction novel. Harpeth Road plans to publish Susan’s novel in the summer of 2023.

On the small southern island of Fripp, off the coast of South Carolina, where the daily tide swells and minnow counts are the biggest news, Jamie Jones lives in a beach bungalow next door to her mother, and her life is moving along at about the same slow pace as the island. After the death of her husband, unable to find her own way, Jamie continues to follow her husband’s passion for island conservation and spends her days among the seagulls and the salty spray of the Atlantic. Until newcomer Ryan Kennedy and his teenage daughter move in to the rental down the street, along with big plans for a beach home right in the middle of the island’s natural landscape, shaking up Jamie’s well-ordered, simple life in ways she never could’ve imagined.

Upon acquiring the rights to this gem of a novel, Jenny said,

“Susan has an unmistakably southern voice that hooked me from line one. I’m absolutely thrilled to be publishing her novel and I cannot wait to share it with both her current fans as well as new readers.”

Susan said,

“I’m thrilled to join such a dynamic and supportive team of publishing professionals! Jenny Hale knows what it takes to get books in the hands of readers. Harpeth Road is a perfect fit for Jamie and Ryan’s story and I can’t wait to share it with you!”
